MSC Cruises Australasia today announced the appointment of Lisa Teiotu as its Commercial Director to lead the Company’s Australia and New Zealand business and further promote the line’s brand in the market to the travel trade community and consumers.

In her new role, Lisa will be responsible for overseeing local operations and commercial activities across this market.

She was previously Sales Director for a period of two years and will report to Angelo Capurro, Executive Director at MSC Cruises’ Geneva, Switzerland-based headquarters.

Prior to this, she was Head of Business Development for Australia & New Zealand at Royal Caribbean.

Mr Capurro said, “Lisa’s promotion is a deserving one and her commercial acumen saw strong forward bookings despite the backdrop of the global pandemic, so she is well placed to push ahead with our ambitions to grow our presence in Australia and New Zealand.

“We are looking at record sales for 2023 in the local market for our ship sailings in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe and I have no doubts that Lisa will continue this positive trajectory forward.”

The ambitious line will see MSC World Europa, the world’s largest liquified natural gas (LNG)-powered cruise ship, and MSC Seascape join its fleet of ships later in 2022.  MSC Euribia, the company’s second LNG ship, will be delivered in 2023.

MSC Cruises’ fleet is projected to grow to 23 cruise ships by 2025 with options for six more vessel orders in place through 2030.
