Lopota Lake Resort & Spa, the 148-acre family-owned resort nestled in the heart of the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, has unveiled its latest addition, IKE, a brand new Asian-fusion-inspired multi-functional complex, complete with a bar and restaurant, swimming pool, lounge area and private lake. Designed by David Koiava of Georgian architectural firm Design Avenue Studio, IKE presents a calm oasis for guests to relax and enjoy amongst the lush Kakhetian landscape.

Known for its gastronomical diversity, Lopota Lake Resort & Spa offers many culinary experiences, including traditional Georgian cuisine at Kakhetian Korner, modern European dishes at the Chateau Burea winery and a decadent Italian menu at Oval restaurant. Lopota’s latest addition, IKE Asian-Fusion, continues to support the resort’s diverse offering with its carefully curated menu of refined Japanese dishes, contemporary interior design and elegant pool and terrace.

IKE, which means “small lake” in Japanese, is the name of the new complex after a little lake recently formed from water trickling down the mountains. Adjacent to the lake is a new swimming pool, marking the resort’s eight pool, surrounded by comfortable sun loungers against a backdrop of lush mountainous woodland.

Ana Maisuradze, Owner of Lopota Lake Resort & Spa, said, “The vision to create a concept like IKE, incorporating a modern Asian restaurant, with a pool and lake, was that of my late father’s, Goga, the founder of the resort. Honouring Goga’s discernment and goal to continually expand the resort’s offering, IKE is a collaborative concept that unites nature with design and a culinary offering unparalleled in the region”.

Spearheaded by Culinary Director Jorge da Silva, IKE presents a menu of Asian-inspired dishes using the best local Georgian produce, inviting guests for a unique culinary experience unrivalled in Kakheti. Cultivating his culinary flair through working in top kitchens worldwide, receiving the award of the “Most Popular Restaurant in Hong Kong” for three years straight, Jorge translates his global experience into his work at IKE, sharing his explorations through gastronomic masterpieces. Dishes on the menu include classic Tom Yum and Miso Soup, Chicken and Prawn Gyozas, Whole Fried Crispy Seabass with garlic, ginger and lime, Beef Gilet Teriyaki with edamame beans, sautéed oyster mushrooms and sweet potatoes, and a full selection of classic sushi rolls including the Dragon, California and Spicy Tuna roll.

Designed by Georgian architectural firm Design Avenue Studio, the restaurant’s facade intends to achieve harmony between the architecture and landscape, ensuring that its natural surroundings remain undisturbed. Crafted from a combination of local stone and wood with a traditionally Georgian tiled roof, the considerately designed structure maintains balance with nature, reinforced by stained glass windows that reach from floor to ceiling, creating a cohesive transition from the outside in. The new restaurant’s interior marries well with its exterior, championing the use of natural materials with a clean and minimalist Japanese-inspired design decorated in soft, earthy tones with turquoise and blue tiled walls. Georgian artist Anton Balanchivadze was commissioned to create a mural for the restaurant that sits behind the open sushi bar, a spectacular abstract painting manifesting rich gold, amber and turquoise tones.
