For the first time ever, Edgewater’s new guest bathroom amenities now incorporate bilingual descriptions, in Te Reo Māori and English.

Furthermore, they have been developed and produced entirely in Aotearoa New Zealand with an emphasis on sustainability and protecting the environment.  Hair care products are made from a 100% vegetable base and are Paraben free.  Even the packaging is 100% recycled featuring oxygen bleached carton board.

The range features Hopi Rika (hand wash), Hopi Tinana (body wash), Hopi Makawe (shampoo), Hopi Whakamania(conditioner) and Pani Tinana (body lotion).

The journey towards development of these new amenities started in 2021 and involved extensive discussions with the manufacturer, Health-Pak,  and consultation with tangata whenua.

Edgewater’s goal was to incorporate Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique heritage and culture into our guest experience.  As we welcome overseas visitors again, it was the perfect time to introduce these new amenities and bilingual labelling.

According to General Manager Catherine Bone, “We are grateful for the support and advice from Komene from Tēnei Te Ruru and Paulette from Kotahi Mano Kāika as we developed these amenities”.
