There is true affinity between the Palacongressi di Rimini and art. After the success of the exhibitions held in the Convivio space, it was Foyer B’s turn to host the installations curated by the students of the Rimini Academy of Fine Arts.

Eight interactive pieces were dedicated to the theme of death and rebirth, addressed in different ways, all with a common backdrop – the city of Rimini, where students of the Graphic Design 3 course study.

Spazio 71, the name of the successful initiativeproposed Rimini as a place to be shaped and discovered in the past, a city that is home. The work started out with an exchange between the students and the management of the Palacongressi, an authentic investigation into the history of the city of Rimini, to highlight the fluctuations brought on by the alternation of periods of prosperity and decline, which have spurred the city to recover, rising from its ashes like a phoenix.

The latter is a pivotal symbol within the project, useful to underline the experience of the city which, thanks to the people who live and animate it, has always managed to regenerate itself in different ways towards a thriving future. The name, SPAZIO 71, derives from the analysis of the symbolism of the phoenix in ancient Egypt.

“We are convinced of the importance of pursuing all the opportunities to connect the Palacongressi to the local area and to the excellence it expresses – says Fabio De Santis, director of the IEG Event & Conference division – in the wake of a city that has undertaken in earnest the enhancement of its great cultural and artistic heritage. This time it was students of the Rimini Academy who brought their interpretation of the city into a space that by vocation welcomes people and facilitates them in sharing knowledge. The installations were very intriguing, the theme of rebirth is connected to a vision that unites us all at this particular point in time”.
