A holiday in New Caledonia just became a lot easier, with Qantas relaunching direct flights to the destination from the 4th of June.
Australians will be able to fly to Noumea from Brisbane in only 2 hours with the once-weekly flight from the 4th of June, and from Sydney in 2.5 hours three times per week from the 5th of June. A fourth weekly Sydney – Noumea flight will commence on 13 August. All services will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The destination announced in March that it has dropped its quarantine requirements and reopened its borders. From May onwards, fully vaccinated Australians no longer need to perform a RAT or PCR test prior to travel. A RAT test is still required 48 hours after arrival in New Caledonia, which can be done for free in pharmacies.
