The RAC estimated that 19.5 million leisure trips by road will take place between Wednesday and Sunday, meaning those travelling over the weekend can expect delays.
New figures from outdoor holiday booking site, Pitchup, reveal a daily total of 74,689 holidaymakers are booked to camp across the UK this Friday.
With a high percentage of campers expected to travel by car, Pitchup is recommending they choose an alternative method of travel.
As of today, there are 210* campsites across England, Wales and Scotland and Northern Ireland that offer a pick-up service from their nearest public transport.

- The Esholt Sports Club, Leeds
Leeds has some beautiful countryside scenery, making it a popular camping destination in the Northern English county of Yorkshire.
For those travelling from York, a single journey to Leeds only costs around £5.60.
Located just two and a half miles east of Shipley, six miles north of Bradford and 11 miles west of Leeds, the Esholt Sports Club is located near three train stations including;
Baildon Rail Station (1.2 miles), Guiseley Rail Station (2.2 miles), and Apperley Bridge Rail Station (4.7 miles).
