It’s Freedom Time and nothing captures the Cora Cora Freedom ethos better than DJ Sisi’s incredible tunes and elegant flair that keeps the party going at the luxurious resort. The femme artist is affectionately known as the “Dancing DJ” and uses a rich array of sounds to take each guest of Cora Cora Maldives on a magical journey across the shaking dancefloor.

Born and raised in the vibrant hub of Johannesburg, the City of Gold, DJ Sisi has mastered a variety of musical talents, including being a professional dancer, content queen, choreographer, DJ, presenter/ MC, and aspiring producer. Her signature music style is an eclectic combination of old school House, Deep Afro Tech, Disco Funk, Eclectic Tropical Beats, and Techno – toe-tapping beats for any music aficionado.

DJ Sisi has travelled all over the world, including dominating the stage at the 2018 Oppikoppi Festival, the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF 2019), and Redbull Ultra Fest 2020. She has a particular affinity with Australia, having toured the country performing at Brisbane Arts Festival, Sydney Fringe Festival, and Big Sound whilst holding three residential spaces at Peachy (44 Stanely), The Living Room (Maboneng), and Social on Main (Bryanston). Even though her heart remains in South Africa, her favourite place in the world, DJ Sisi is thrilled to have made her way to the Maldives and join the Cora Cora Maldives team to make sure every guest has the musical adventure of a lifetime.

DJ Sisi’s talents do not end with music – she is a fantastic dancer and was thrilled to be given the chance to share the joy with Cora Cora Maldives guests. Having majored in classical ballet and contemporary dance at UCT, she became a freelance dancer and choreographer across multiple genres and worked with Sampa The Great, Jesse Clegg, Jojo Abot, Hell Cats Band, Jussie Smollet, and more!

Embracing the freedom philosophy was one of the main things that attracted DJ Sisi to Cora Cora Maldives. DJ Sisi believes that everybody should have the opportunity to be who they wish to be and never hold back from doing the things they want to do. If there was one legacy she would like to leave behind, it would be “Go after everything and anything you want, no matter what. Focus on what makes you happy and grab every opportunity that comes your way to get you one step closer to your dream.” DJ Sisi revels in expressing herself creatively whether it is through dance as she was a ballet dancer for 18 years and competed professionally or dying her hair different colours since she was 17 years old.

When she’s not behind the decks lining up the next tune and dancing with the guests, DJ Sisi loves collecting shells and crystals, playing chess and sudoku, and making her own jewellery and clothes. DJ Sisi recognises the benefits of music and dance on the mind, body, and soul as an integral aspect of connecting each guest at Cora Cora Maldives with the It’s Freedom Time culture at the heart of the resort – DJ Sisi will take each guest on an unforgettable musical journey.
