The design path of RPM PROGET Studio in Rome – a reality of great originality and strength of proposal in the furnishing and renovation of food spaces – is enriched with a new chapter: QUARTINO, wine shop with kitchen and food delivery, opens in Rome near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, in a neighbourhood that is being reshaped and enlivened thanks to the opening of many new premises.
A reference for the realization of cafes, restaurants, wine bars, lounge bars, cocktail bars, pastry shops, ice cream shops, bakeries and fast food, RPM PROGET Studio – whose historical team includes architect Roberto Antobenedetto, interior designer Patrizia Pozzi and architect Michelangelo Pepè – has been operating for twenty years in the multifaceted reality of Rome with experiences in other cities in Europe and in the United States, alongside projects in the world of food spaces with new and original proposals for the hotellerie.
QUARTINO presents itself to the public of Romans and tourists with a captivating formula. It is a wine shop boasting a selection of 1500 national and international wine labels, a cooking laboratory for on-site consumption and a food & wine delivery service.
QUARTINO opens in the name of conviviality, courtesy and professionalism with a space of 80 square meters plus a kitchen on the street level and a basement of the same size used as a warehouse and service. The large inside hall has a capacity of 20-25 comfortable and spaced seats, with the availability of another 20-30 seats outside under the arcades of a typical Roman square.
The interiors of QUARTINO feature high iron shelving of 3.60 meters flanked by cubes and shelves in oak wood on a reused concrete floor, glued and treated. A large cocktail bar counter accompanies with elegant and comfortable sofas, chairs and armchairs. The project speaks of a special attention to the use of materials with an authentic taste and vintage charm, further emphasized by the decorations and chromatic choices in shades of beige and burgundy, consistent with the world of wine.
The lighting project with new technology spotlights mounted on pylons enhances the place, makes it visible from abroad and illuminates the details and peculiarities of traditional Italian cuisine with some concessions to a more international food specially designed for tourists. But, above all, the light makes the reflections of the wines shine, as wines are and remain the absolute protagonists of the scene. The most precious of them are kept in ad hoc showcases.
The approach of RPM PROGET Studio to this project concerned not only the furnishing of a pleasant, original and particular space, but also the study of functions, rhythms and paths carefully designed to transform the restaurant experience into a moment of satisfaction and efficiency for customers as well as for those who manage the venue.
“Always – says architect Michelangelo Pepè – the philosophy of our studio is expressed through a 360-degree attention and conceives the collaboration with the client as a shared path that integrates the aesthetic and performing value of the project with a more wide-ranging entrepreneurial vision aimed at the proper functioning of the venue and, ultimately, at its success, because a ‘beautiful’ place is one that works”.
