Lovedale Long Lunch, the Hunter Valley’s boutique wine and food festival, has finalised its menus and music, and is ready to let the good times roll, with tickets expected to sell out fast.
Lovedale Long Lunch is a progressive lunch that runs all afternoon on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May, with some of the Hunter’s leading chefs teamed up with seven Lovedale wineries to offer guests fabulous food, great wine and live music, alfresco among the vineyards.
Each of the seven host wineries for Lovedale Long Lunch 2022 has organised local entertainment: Allandale Winery (Adam Katz & Nada Leigh); Emma’s Cottage Vineyard (Anna Weatherup & band); Gartlemann Wines (Bermuda Social); Saltire Estate (Paper Boy Band); Sandalyn Estate (Phonic); Tatler Wines (Hornet and Uptown the Band) and Wandin Valley (Marvell Band).
Tickets are available for either the Saturday or Sunday, or both, and you can visit up to three wineries per day, with a continuous shuttle bus running between the venues.
Matt Dillow, owner and chef, Gartelmann Wines and The Deck Café, Lovedale, said:
“Whether you’re a return guest, or coming for the first time, we are delighted to be able treat you to some of our unique Hunter Valley wine, food and hospitality.
“All the menus look fabulous and taste even better – hearty, full of flavour and prepared with thought and finesse to match our wonderful wines. It’s going to be a tough choice on the day because they all look delicious, but you are guaranteed great food, music, and good times at every winery, so it doesn’t really matter.
“For example, at The Deck Café our entrée is saffron and preserved lemon risotto with snapper, prawns, baby calamari, tomatoes, and zucchini ribbons, teamed with semillion.
“At Allandale Winery’s Emerson’s Restaurant, the mains will be slow-cooked Cowra lamb shank with crushed herb potatoes and spiced tomato ragout, with a cabernet sauvignon.
“For dessert, Sandalyn Estate’s Peterson House Restaurant is preparing drunken strawberry parfait with chocolate mousse, pavlova, and flaked chocolate, paired with Rouge Lissé.
“We are all providing great vegetarian options which are more than an after-thought, such as Saltire Estate’s dukkah spiced pumpkin, quinoa and chickpea salad, fried halloumi topped with coriander yoghurt, teamed with prosecco.
“We’re ready for the party, so now’s the time to gather your family and friends, book your tickets and accommodation and look forward to a wonderful weekend in Lovedale next month.
“The full menus, entertainment and everything else you need to know is on our website.”
Amy Cooper, CEO, Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association said:
“It’s great to see the organising committee and operators planning ahead with confidence and we expect this event to once again be a great success, promoting the fantastic wine and food experiences in Lovedale, Hunter Valley.”
