From the trailblazers who have been advocating for climate action for decades to the behind-the-scenes dealmakers funding new infrastructure and the scientists and entrepreneurs inventing new paths to a greener future, The List: Green Power Players reveals the depth of talent and knowledge propelling Australia’s green ambitions.

The Australian pulled together an advisory panel* that called on the expertise of some of the country’s leading scientists, Government advisers, economists and lawyers who spent many hours debating the top candidates for inclusion on the first The List: Green Power Players.

The special Green List magazine in The Australian this Friday, and online at www.theaustralian.com.au, features stories on the top environmental issues and opportunities in Australia – from ocean pollution to batteries, recycling, global warming, renewables, ethically made fashion and furniture, solar electricity and the move to build the world’s biggest solar farm.

The List: Green Power Players 2022 magazine also reveals the “secret” market for carbon offsets giving farmers and landowners a new income stream and offering a green path for corporations to deliver on their net-zero emission goals and plans to secure Australia a spot in the top three hydrogen suppliers by 2030.

“Australia is ideally positioned to be a renewable superpower. We hope that our Green Power Players List provides inspiration, sparks debate and helps encourage the next generation to step up.  The green revolution is here – and as our special magazine highlights, there is an impressive depth of talent driving the change,” said editor, The List: Green Power Players 2022, Perry Williams.

“I’ve spent a decade covering green energy and climate, and there is no question Australia is on the cusp of a new era. After years of policy confusion out of Canberra, there is now a clear convergence among our mainstream parties on the direction Australia should take to reach net-zero by 2050,” added Perry Williams.

Australia’s transition towards renewable energy and a greener economy is the greatest challenge — and the greatest opportunity — of our time. We are proud to celebrate 100 Australians who are leading the way with innovative ideas, new technology and bold vision.”
