For 2022, Red Carnation Hotels has launched its own dedicated chain code in the GDS – ‘RN’, as the hotel company ends its longstanding affiliation with Leading Hotels of the World and prepares to open its 19th property, 100 Princes Street, in Edinburgh this summer.
Red Carnation is also delighted to announce the appointment of leading luxury travel representation company ‘Rebecca Recommends,’ to further strengthen its sales relationships in the U.S.
“The past couple of years have been challenging for every one of us in the travel industry, but it has without doubt given us time to reflect on our business and plan for a brighter future. With 19 unique and special hotels around the world, Red Carnation Hotels took the decision to launch an independent GDS chain code and invest in new sales representation in the US leisure Market. We are delighted to be partnering with Rebecca Slater and the Rebecca Recommends team,” said Managing Director, Jonathan Raggett.
Red Carnation recently launched online advisor training, The Red Carnation Collection Academy, that consists of a suite of courses created especially for each individual agent, helping them build a deeper understanding of the boutique hotel brand. The hotel collection now proudly stands at 19 exceptional hotels around the world, each unique and special, while sharing the founding values that define our family-owned and run business.
“It was a special highlight for us as a family brand – with a life-long love affair with Africa – to welcome Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana to our collection, particularly during a global pandemic. We are so looking forward to welcoming our international guests to experience it for the very first time, as well as to 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh, which we are excited to open this June. We hope that these new partnerships will further strengthen our ties with our US travel partners and guests, and our teams cannot wait to welcome them back to London and Ireland.” Raggett continues.
The hotel’s 19th property, 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh, is set to open on June 1, 2022 and is now live on the ‘RN’ chain code for bookings. Andrew Phelan will serve as General Manager, who most recently acted as Director of Operations for the estate of Ashford Castle.
The original building and its iconic features will be respectfully renovated, transforming it into an exclusive retreat on Edinburgh’s most famous street. With uninterrupted views of Edinburgh Castle, 100 Princes Street will replicate the boutique atmosphere of its sister property, Hotel 41, the most-loved hotel in London and TripAdvisor’s number one hotel in the English capital for over 10 years.
Led by the design team behind the iconic Ashford Castle in Ireland – Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan – this restoration will look to protect and retain the original heart and soul of 100 Princes Street. Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the design team sought to create a sense of place, working with local artisans to create bespoke pieces. These custom-made design features include tartan designed by Araminta Campbell and a central staircase which features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders, honoring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.
