Spread the love

From 9 January to 5 February 2022, the historic Long Bar celebrates the New Year with its first 2022 instalment of the popular Slingology series featuring the award-winning Native Bar, continuing Long Bar’s proud tradition as the home of the iconic Singapore Sling.Founded by homegrown bartender Vijay Mudaliar, Native Bar stands strong in its pride for its Singapore roots and the surrounding region – evident in the local and regional produce and influences found both in the bar’s delectable signature cocktails, and its bespoke new Slingology creations.

Reset and refresh for the new year with the sweet yet tangy Garden Sling, crafted with Colombo Gin, roselle, pineapple, Thai basil and calamansi, or imbibe the aromatic and fruity Melon, concocted with Colombo Gin, melon, Junmai sake and jasmine flower. The Pu-Err, created with Monkey Shoulder, pu-erh, Trigona honey and chrysanthemum, combines the earthiness and depth of pu-erh tea with whiskey and subtle floral notes, making for a surprisingly smooth tipple.

Exclusively on 9 January, Sunday, from 3pm to 9pm, Yong Wei, Head Bartender of Native Bar, will make a special appearance to helm the Long Bar’s famous counter, celebrating the continuation of the Slingology series into the new year.

Launched on the inaugural Singapore Sling Day, 27 June in 2021, the collaborative Slingology series introduces exquisite new Singapore Sling-inspired tipples, concocted by the top cocktail bars in Singapore.

The next collaboration in the Slingology series will be with Brass Lion Distillery, Singapore’s first full-fledged micro-distillery that will take place from 6 February to 6 March 2022.
