Southeast Asia specialist tour operator InsideAsia Tours® is gearing up to resume business after Malaysia announces plans to loosen travel restrictions and Cambodia lifts quarantine requirements for international visitors as of November 15, 2021.

Malaysia’s National Recovery Council proposed that it will open its borders to foreign visitors by January 1, 2022, at the latest, recognizing the country’s need for inbound international tourism as essential to improve the country’s economic standing.
The Southeast and East Asia destination specialist planned to launch programming in Malaysia back in 2020 for the company’s twentieth anniversary. As part of the launch, the operator created ten new itineraries that highlight Malaysia as well as Borneo with a focus on responsible and sustainable travel that ‘get beneath the surface.’
“Malaysia and Borneo were the perfect additions to InsideAsia’s existing destination portfolio, which already includes Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. We have had the in-house passion and knowledge of these places for years and now it is finally time to share that with our partners,” continued Krevitt.
Cambodia announced all quarantine restrictions for vaccinated travelers have been lifted as of November 15, 2021. The award-winning tour operator and destination specialist offers five itineraries across the country, all of which feature hand-picked experiences and focus on supporting local and sustainable tourism. Each itinerary can be tailored to suit various interests, budgets, and timeframes with the help of an InsideAsia expert.
“We all saw pictures of a beautiful but unusually quiet Angkor Wat and have heard about the impact the pandemic and lack of tourism has had on these places and local communities. InsideAsia has been organizing travel to Cambodia since 2013 and has always aimed to get low-level, sustainable tourism beyond the likes of Siem Reap, across this often underrated and beautiful country, to visit rural communities and to experience Khmer culture,” said Jeff Krevitt, vice president of marketing, Americas, for Inside Travel Group.
“We are all looking forward to traveling and helping our agent partners get their customers to this part of the world again. InsideAsia is currently working with its partners on the ground to ensure that everything is in place and that they are ready to welcome visitors, but this is excellent news for Cambodia and Southeast Asia,” Krevitt continued.
