A sight on Australia’s international travel game amid the COVID-19 pandemic
Australia was one of the first countries to put an international travel ban in place when the COVID-19 pandemic had started to show its catastrophic effects worldwide. Later, in March 2021, Australia moved ahead with a new system of establishing “travel bubbles” with countries where COVID situation was under control.
Firstly, Australia began with a travel bubble with New Zealand in March 2021. However, with the advent of the Delta variant, the New Zealand bubble got suspended. And, now with efficient mass vaccination and other effective COVID policies, Australia is back in the game.
The country lifted its international travel ban on November 1. However, at this moment Australians are allowed to travel internationally, but Australia is only welcoming Australian citizens, residents, and close families in its demography.
With the resumption of international travel, the travel bubble with New Zealand has also been resumed. So, fully vaccinated travellers from New Zealand can also enter Australia without quarantine restrictions.

Australia is following a unique “travel bubble” policy. Under which, the next in line is Singapore. Yes, you heard it right! Singaporeans are the next travellers to be allowed to enter Australia and vice versa.
As per the official announcements, fully vaccinated Aussies would be allowed to travel to Singapore from November 8 onwards and Singaporeans would be allowed to enter Australia from November 21 onwards.
Travel would be quarantine free for fully vaccinated citizens of both the countries. Australia is waiting for Singaporean students as university campuses reopen. Australia and Singapore exchange a significant number of foreign students.
Qantas has announced that flights to Singapore will restart on November 23; following that, Jetstar will resume its flights from Melbourne and Darwin to Singapore on December 16. Additionally, Australia is expected to include more Pacific countries under the travel bubble system as soon as the country reaches the mark of 80% fully vaccinated population.
