Korea Tourism Organization Sydney Office has organised three online events exclusively for members of the South Korea Travel Specialist ANZ Facebook group, in November, in order to prepare agents for borders opening and to reward those who participate with a range of prizes.

The events will include the following topics:

  • Explore the World of Soju and Cook Korean Food – 18 November, 6-7pm (AEDT), register here
  • Virtual Fam Tour to Gangneung, eastern South Korea – 22 November, 6-7pm (AEDT), register here
  • Virtual Fam Tour to Haeundae Beach, Busan – 23 November, 6-7:30pm (AEDT), register here

The Korean Cooking Class on 18 November where you will show you how to make Soju cocktails (floral, dry alcoholic beverage), followed by learning how to make the on-trend kimchi pancakes. 100 randomly selected attendees will be awarded one of 100 gift packs which include 50 gift packs of two bottles of Soju and another 50 kimchi pancake meal kit gift packs.  There’ll also be a live quiz about South Korea where the most attentive attendees could be awarded a $100 or $50 gift card!

Next, take a virtual fam trip to Gangneung in eastern South Korea.  This coastal city is known for adventure and exploration. Gangneung is a favourite local getaway with pristine beaches, temples, forests and Gangneung’s famous coffee scene. Join a local guide as they show you around Gangneung’s famous landmarks, local foods, and awe-inspiring scenery.  Get the best travel tips– including the best shopping, restaurants, cafes, and photo spots. Participants will also have the chance to win one of 10 Korean traditional fans.

Take a Virtual Beach Break at Haeundae Beach in Busan where you will be shown the key sights by a local guide including the famous 1.5 km stretch of Haeundae Beach.  You’ll be introduced to the traditional Haeundae market (including best secret street foods eats), walk the trails of Dongbaek Island and learn about traditional Korean childhood games – see where Squid Games got its inspiration! The evening tour will highlight the shore as the Haeundae skyline buildings and Gwangan Bridge light up.  Ten randomly selected participants will be rewarded with a beautiful Busan flower-themed eco bag set.

Only open to travel agents who are members of the South Korea Travel Specialist ANZ Facebook group but it’s easy to sign up to the Facebook group here to become an exclusive member.  Once approved, you are eligible to participate in the exclusive events for travel agents only.
