guests’ itinerary as well as airline or destination requirements.
Zambia:
The international airports are open. All travelers require a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of departure
from country of origin and need to adhere to recommended Covid-19 prevention measures.
Africa CDC’s Trusted Travel (TT) framework – it is mandatory for all travelersto have their PCR results verified through
this framework and require a Travel Code (TC) in order to depart or arrive into the country. Test requirements for
transit and destination countries can be verified on xchange.panabios.org or www.africacdc.org/trusted-travel. The
detailed information on how to attain the Travel Code is available here.
All arrivals will need to monitor themselves daily for 10 days for symptoms of the virus and report any occurrence to
the nearest health facility.
• All arrivals from high-risk countries* will be retested for Covid-19 on arrival or within 48hrs, at their own cost, regardless of having a negative PCR test certificate and will need to self-quarantine for 14 days (see list of high-risk countries indicated at the end of document).
• Vaccination – Not a requirement to enter the country but travelers who have been fully vaccinated and in position of the supporting documentation will be exempt from 14-day quarantine requirement. Those from high-risk countries will still require retesting on arrival or within 48 hours.
• Transit through high-risk countries – if coming from a low-risk country is permissible without requiring quarantine time on arrival in Zambia. Transit time must be less than 24 hours.
• Arrivals without a negative test will not be allowed in the country.
Note: Children under 5 are exempt from PCR test requirement for arriving into Zambia.
PCR Testing: can be done in Livingstone and Lusaka with 24-48hr turnaround time. Cost is between US$100 and
US$150 pp depending on the turnaround times required. A government issued Travel Certificate is also necessary for
all departures from Zambia – this is issued after the PCR results.
Positive PCR result within the country will require 14-day quarantine at a facility (hospital or isolation center) as
identified by the Department of Health.
Flights – a number of airlines have been flying into both Lusaka and Livingstone, we recommend checking at the
time of booking which ones are available.
Malawi:
Malawi borders are all open. Travelers require a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of arrival and need to
adhere to recommended Covid-19 prevention measures.
Africa CDC’s Trusted Travel (TT) framework – it is mandatory for all travelers to have their PCR results verified through
this framework and require a Travel Code (TC) in order to depart or arrive into the country. Test requirements for

Zimbabwe:
Both Harare and Victoria Falls are open for international flights. A negative PCR test conducted within 48 hours of
departure from country of origin and adherence to recommended Covid-19 prevention measures.
Land Borders – Kazungula and Victoria Falls land borders have reopened for fully vaccinated adults aged 18+ years
but will still require a negative PCR Test on arrival. 5–17 year old’s only require a negative PCR test – children below 5
years are exempt. Unvaccinated travellers can only transit (not stay) via Zimbabwe land borders.
Arrivals from India – and those who have transited via India need to be retested on arrival:
– If positive will be placed into an appointed isolation center at their own cost.
– If negative then they will undergo 10 days of quarantine at appointed hotel, thereafter, will be retested – at
their own cost.
PCR Testing: can be done in Victoria Falls and Harare with 2hr (for Victoria Falls and Harare Airports) to 48hr
turnaround time. Cost is between US$60 and US$100 pp depending on the turnaround times required and facility
used.
