Today, Cathay Pacific, supported by Amadeus technology, deepens this commitment to NDC by making plans to offer a range of content available on the Amadeus Travel Platform, to the largest network of travel sellers in the world. This announcement builds on Cathay Pacific’s existing distribution strategy underpinned by the carrier’s use of Amadeus Altéa NDC.
Both organizations have started to work on integrating Cathay Pacific’s NDC-sourced content into the Amadeus Travel Platform. This will ensure that Amadeus travel agents worldwide will be able to search, compare, book and service Cathay Pacific content via NDC in one merged display, alongside other content, in a familiar booking environment. Cathay’s new NDC offers will include content such as seat selection, fare families, and special fares. Critical functionalities such as ticketing exchange and refunds will also be available.

Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Air Distribution, Amadeus comments, “Cathay Pacific is at the forefront of customer-centric retailing and merchandising with its commitment to NDC. This partnership will help Cathay Pacific strengthen its brand and offer more visual and tailored content for its customers, which is more important than ever amid the current market circumstances. The integration of Cathay Pacific’s NDC-sourced content in the Amadeus Travel Platform will equip the airline to meet changing traveler needs head-on and reach for new opportunities.”

Travel sellers are expected to be able to make Cathay Pacific NDC bookings through Amadeus’ NDC-enabled solutions – Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Travel API starting from the first quarter of 2022 in several markets. In addition, Amadeus’ flagship solution for corporations, Amadeus cytric Travel & Expense, will be able to process Cathay Pacific’s bookings via NDC in 2022. The airline’s NDC-sourced content will then progressively be rolled out globally in order to reach all Amadeus-connected agents.
