Cues Australia should take from global city leaders to revive tourism

In the meet, the UNWTO acknowledged that urban tourism has been among the worst-hit parts of the industry and maybe the last to recover.

Hence, tourism revival in the cities worldwide is significant and should be prioritised to bring more than just jobs and economic recovery. Australian cities are accustomed to adventure, natural beauty and world-class facilities and destinations for tourists. Australia needs to cherish the excitement, culture, and businesses of the urban land. Urban tourism is a way to bring hope and confidence to Australian cities.

The Land Down Under should now reflect on the significance of the tourists’ arrival for the cities. The highly advanced Australian cities can also make the best out of their digital advancement and continued investments to attract tourists. This can help Australia provide a more enhanced travel experience to the bucket of travellers eagerly waiting to hit the road to cities for their fun trips.

The Australian city leaders need a robust plan of action for the transformation of their respective cities. The transformation will lead to rehabilitation and promotion of heritage that can make the experience of living in Australian cities fun for both travellers and residents.

By adding urban tourism to the urban recovery agenda, Australian city leaders can progress towards affirming their commitments towards growing tourism sustainably, technologically, and culturally.
