Background:
- Virgin Australia will adjust its network in response to changing border requirements and expanded restrictions now in place for Greater Sydney and New South Wales.
- To assist customers who were originally booked to travel to New South Wales, Virgin Australia will redeploy aircraft and crew to several unrestricted destinations to assist them with last-minute holiday travel.
- The additional flying includes several reintroduced services as well as expanded frequencies over the upcoming holiday period to 11 July 2021.
Reintroduced routes:

- Melbourne-Darwin – daily flights, adding more than 1,200 seats
- Melbourne-Hamilton Island – up to 3 flights per week, adding more than 500 seats
- Melbourne-Ballina Byron – up to 7 flights per week, adding more than 1,200 seats
Expanded frequencies (each way):

- Adelaide-Brisbane – up to 6 extra flights, adding more than 1,050 seats over the holiday period
- Adelaide-Gold Coast – up to 6 extra flights, adding more than 1,050 seats over the holiday period
- Brisbane-Cairns – up to 16 extra flights, adding more than 2,800 seats over the holiday period
- Brisbane-Hobart – up to 4 extra flights, adding more than 700 seats over the holiday period
- Brisbane-Darwin – additional 4 flights, adding more than 350 seats over the holiday period
- Additional 18 flights on popular Melbourne holiday routes, adding more than 3,100 seats to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Brisbane.
- These additional services will ensure the majority of our fleet continues to operate throughout the holiday period and that many of our frontline team members can continue to work.
