Westward Whiskey proudly celebrates the launch of its third permanent expression in time for World Whiskey Day, with the introduction of the Westward Single Malt Pinot Noir Cask. This delicious tipple only launched this week in Australia and has just been awarded Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco Spirits Awards.
Westward has also just revealed their stunning new look and custom bottle design that pays homage to the whiskey’s Northwest provenance and indelible link to the culture, climate, and natural ingredients of the American Northwest, and this new Single Malt Pinot Noir Cask is the first expression to be presented in this new visual identity.

Brand new to the Australian market, this expression also just won Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco Spirits Awards. A truly elegant final expression within Westward’s core range, the Pinot Noir Cask is made from scratch in the Westward Whiskey Distillery in Portland as a tribute to Oregon’s legendary Willamette Valley wine country. This cask-finished whiskey reflects the vibrance of the Valley’s signature grape, Pinot Noir, while allowing the bold, robust notes of the whiskey to shine through. The Pinot Noir Cask begins with our original Westward American Single Malt, which is then finished for up to two years in French Oak wine casks from a handful of award-winning producers in the region.

Born of the unique culture, climate and abundant resources of the Northwest, this elevated American original demonstrates Westward’s craftsmanship and creativity. This distinct, rich, and brazen drop is robust and full of flavour, created from locally malted barley and brewed with ale yeast. It is then matured to perfection in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels in Oregon, where their hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters are the ideal environment to raise a world class whiskey.
TASTING NOTES
Westward American Single Malt whiskey awards an elegantly robust and fruity aroma, with creamy vanilla and brown sugar notes. Entry to the palate shows baking spice, lush fruit, and sweet malt. The finish begins with tobacco, dark chocolate, and leather with a lingering oak sweetness that gives way to stone fruit.

- WESTWARD® OREGON STOUT CASK WHISKEY
A celebration of Oregon’s legendary brewing culture, this whiskey grew out of Westward’s longstanding cask-trading tradition among a select group of beer producers in the
Northwest. Like its predecessor, this single malt is meticulously crafted using the same distilling and fermenting process, however, is then aged to finish in Stout beer casks, giving it a bold, dry finish.
TASTING NOTES
Westward Oregon Stout Cask whiskey is rich and robust, with notes of roasted grain, stone fruit, toasted pecan, milk chocolate, and a bold, dry finish.
