Last week, the Port of Seattle joined an estimated 50 agents and cruise line representatives at the inaugural “CLIA LIVE” event on the sunny Gold Coast.

Following the 2-day long event, the Port of Seattle hosted an intimate networking event at the spectacular Aviary Rooftop Bar in Southport to thank agents, cruise lines, and CLIA for their incredible resilience and support over the past year.

The Port of Seattle event offered agents and cruise line account managers the chance to re-connect and to remind them that whilst sailing to Alaska from Seattle is off the cards right now, the national parks, wineries, waterways, and wide-open spaces of Seattle and Washington state eagerly await their return.  As a thank you, all attendees were treated to a gift card from one of Seattle’s most well-known institutions – Starbucks.

Speaking after the event, the Port of Seattle and Linkd Tourism Account Manager, Amanda McCoy thanked CLIA for putting on such a successful 2-day event, adding, “we’re incredibly proud to represent a destination that is as forward thinking and supportive of agents and the Australian and New Zealand travel industry.  The Port of Seattle has retained its presence in market throughout the COVID pandemic and continues to show its support by hosting small events like tonight, and through our ongoing CLIA training platform.  These might seem like small gestures, but they mean a great deal in this climate.  And like the agents and cruise line staff who attended the event, we cannot wait to welcome travellers setting sail from the Port of Seattle soon, and helping them discover all the other incredible destinations around Seattle and greater Washington state once borders re-open.”

Agents who wish to learn more about the Port of Seattle are encouraged to complete the CLIA training program found here.
