American Cruise Lines is pleased to announce that it is ready to operate the 2021 Alaska season as scheduled. The season includes 8-Day and 11-Day cruises on the Inside Passage that explore Southeast Alaska in depth.

Cruises will operate exclusively in U.S. waters aboard the American Constellation, one of the newest ships in Alaska. The June to September season will consist of 8-Day Southeast Alaska cruises round-trip from Juneau, and brand new 11-Day Alaskan Explorer cruises which venture further into the Inside Passage, Clarence Straight, Tracy Arm, and Glacier Bay. The longer Alaskan Explorer cruises are offered round-trip from Juneau, as well as from Ketchikan to Juneau.

American operates small U.S. built, crewed, and flagged ships, which accommodate just 100-190 passengers and visit only domestic ports-of-call. The Line has worked closely with both local and state officials in Southeast Alaska and across the country to safely bring back small-ship domestic cruising throughout the United States.

“We have a strong operating history in Alaska and have been glad to work with our many local partners to make this season a reality,” said Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines. “Our COVID-19 operating protocols are tailored to each state and designed to mitigate risk while still enabling a meaningful contribution to each local economy.”

June through September, American Cruise Lines will explore Southeast Alaska’s unique cultures, scenic glaciers, fjords, and abundant wildlife. Specializing in personalized experiences, American’s Alaska cruises explore the Inside PassageFrederick SoundGlacier Bay, and Tracy Arm and visit Juneau, Skagway, Haines, Petersburg, Ketchikan, Haines, and Wrangell, among other picturesque sites throughout the region.  All 8-Day and 11-Day cruises include a complimentary pre-cruise hotel night in Juneau, and the newest Alaskan Explorer itinerary also offers a complimentary hotel stay at the iconic Cape Fox Lodge for the departures from Ketchikan.

In every Alaskan port of call, American has well-established relationships with local vendors, experts, and guides as well as cultural institutions, national parks, and wildlife conservationists. Both on board and on shore, the Line provides entertainment, specialized enrichment packages, and personalized service. Guided shore excursions are offered at every port in Alaska and include: private fishing charters, Tlingit cultural experiences, wildlife kayaking excursions, glacier flight-seeing adventures, active hikes, and casual walking tours.

American’s 2021 cruises have voluntary capacity reductions and industry-leading COVID-19 mitigation practices, including pre-boarding testing and medical staff on board. American’s COVID-19 Operating Protocol is designed to keep communities safe, and it is available on the company’s website here.
