The BioDundee International Conference is taking place virtually for the first time in its 20-year history.

BioDundee is the longest-running and most established event of its kind in Scotland and will be a bit different this year as it will be virtual and delivered in partnership with DC Thomson Media.

Taking place on Wednesday 12th May, the one-day event with accompanying exhibition and networking opportunities will attract attendees and exhibitors from the UK, and International Life Sciences, Healthcare, Digital, and associated sectors.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Life Sciences and Healthcare: Key Sectors for Economic Recovery” and will feature speakers from academia, business, and government across six different sessions throughout the day.

The sessions taking place include:

  • The UK Landscape for Life Sciences and Healthcare: Funding and Legislation
  • Driving Health Technologies in the New Environment
  • The Pharmaceutical Supply Chain
  • Animal Health, Agri-tech and Aquaculture (AAA): Strengths and Opportunities in Scotland
  • 20 Years On: Reflecting and Looking to the Future
What do the next 20 years hold for the Life Sciences and Healthcare Sectors?

Dundee is home to one of the most exciting life science hubs in the UK, with world-class companies, Universities, research institutions and scientists all within a three-mile radius.
Established in 1997, BioDundee is a partnership between the public, private and academic sectors. It aims to promote Dundee as a world-class centre for life science and healthcare activity, as well as build the strength of the sectors in the city and wider Tayside region.
Dr Richard Allcorn, Co-Founder of AMICULUM, said, ‘The BioDundee conference is a fantastic opportunity for thought leaders and organizations in Life Sciences, Healthcare and associated sectors to come together. AMICULUM is delighted to support this year’s virtual conference for the 20th anniversary celebrations.’
Mark Cook, Director of Government Affairs at Medtronic, said, ‘Innovation in life sciences is central to the improvement of health and wellbeing in Scotland, as well as being integral to our economy. Medtronic is proud to be continuing as the main sponsor of BioDundee in its anniversary year and are excited this conference will be accessible to even more people as a free virtual event.’
