Memphis Tourism has announced its first trade webinar for 2021, inviting agents to join Memphis based tour operator A Tour of Possibilities on a visual guide of some of the city’s most important sites in regards to the national civil rights movement.
Specialising in Black history tours, A Tour of Possibilities was created to share the historical and cultural gems that African Americans have contributed to Memphis, and is ranked as the number one tour in the city. Participating Australian and New Zealand agents can expect to get an insight into locations including Slave Haven, a site that documents the history of the Underground Railroad; Historic Mason Temple where Dr Martin Luther King delivered his last speech, “I’ve been to the mountaintop” the day before he was assassinated; the National Civil Rights Museum; and Beale Street.
Founder of A Tour of Possibilities, by Carolyn Michael-Banks, will talk webinar guests through the significance of these plus many more Memphis sites, and will be on hand at the end of the presentation to answer any additional questions.
Memphis Tourism AU and NZ Director, Chris Ingram said, “A city with civil rights at its core, Memphis proudly embraces and showcases its involvement – both good and bad – in the history and continued movement towards equality. This trade webinar is designed to provide agents and industry members with the opportunity to learn more about an incredibly important aspect of the city of Memphis, direct from the number one tour operator in the city.”
The webinar will take place on Wednesday 14th April at 9am AEST / 11am NZT, and will run for 45 mins.
