With more Australians than ever owning a pet, Australia’s leading pet services platform PetCloud has launched a National Pet Directory to help pet owners easily locate pet-friendly places, businesses and services in their neighbourhood or when they travel.

Like TripAdvisor for pets, the directory uses GPS technology to show the nearest dog parks and beaches, as well as dog-friendly cafés and pubs, with the option to review each place.

PetCloud CEO Deb Morrison said the directory was already home to more than 12,000 places and businesses across the nation.

“Just like us, dogs enjoy heading out for Sunday brunch and a walk on the beach and with this directory pet owners will never again have to worry about whether their four-legged friend is welcome at a café or allowed on a beach – all the information is right there in the palm of their hand,” Ms Morrison said.

“It’s not just people who are ‘holidaying here this year’, it’s millions of pets too, and we want to see all creatures great and small enjoy everything Australia has to offer after a rough 12 months of lockdowns and self-isolating. With the help of this directory, we hope to support local businesses that welcome man’s best friend. At last count there were more than 30 million pets in Australia – that’s more pets than people – so being pet-friendly can mean big business for a pub or café.”

PetCloud is inviting pet owners to add their favourite local haunts, and pet-friendly businesses can also add their details to the directory online, so Australia’s animal lovers can find the best places to take their pets in every city and town.

The pet directory can also be accessed through the PetCloud App (on IOS or Android), which connects more than 100,000 Australians with PetCloud services such as pet sitting, dog walking, doggy day care, pet taxis and now the pet directory.
