BIKE SHOP LA is celebrating their new home in the heart of LA, converting its high-profile space into the epicentre of West Hollywood’s effort to save the Monarch Butterfly.

The shop is launching a plant adoption program and monarch sanctuary information centre and unveiling Bike Shop LA’s highly anticipated Monarch Café where visitors can enjoy a cold drink while sitting in a Monarch oasis. In addition to being a rest station for sun-kissed riders as they wait for their bike to be serviced, the new information centre and Monarch Café will also offer an intimate educational ground to experience and learn all about the beauty of this iconic (and endangered) species.

Theodore Payne Foundation will be on hand to sell their new Monarch Sanctuary starter kits and educate the public on the endangered Monarch butterfly. Visitors will be able to take a piece of the experience home with them and plant their own sanctuary. West Hollywood has taken the National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge, and Bike Shop LA’s Monarch Café will help facilitate the city’s commitment to monarch and pollinator conservation.

Bike Shop LA invites West Hollywood residents and neighbouring communities to attend the Grand Opening of the Monarch Café on Saturday, March 13th 2021 at 11 AM, which will include socially-distanced outdoor festivities, food by Burrito Break, drinks, bike and accessory sales, music, and a bring a plant take a plant adoption event.

As many businesses adapted to serve their communities’ more immediate needs in the wake of Covid-19, West Hollywood’s premiere outdoor experience operator Bikes and Hikes LA quickly pivoted from giving daily tours to travellers to placing an expanded emphasis on their companion bike shop. As gyms and spin studios closed, Bike Shop LA moved into a massive new location at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd., ironically taking over the space from a car service centre. In line with its eco-forward sustainable business model, Bike Shop LA is giving everyone even more reasons to be outdoors and give back to the community
