How the world has changed in the last year or so, with the travel and tourism industry, in particular, has gone through and still going through significant challenges and change, with the key to success or even survival being to be able to as some say “pivot” and change in response to the challenges being presented to us all, it seems like daily!

In the world of media and especially travel and tourism media, while Global Travel Media is booming with having grown to now nearly 70,000 subscribers to our six days a week enews and over 1 million page views every month and 7 million visits to our web site every seven days, we are continuously looking at the business to make it work even better and more effectively.

In addition, Stephen Morton, the founder, CEO and executive publisher will in the next several months we hope, be having a medical procedure, which may put him out of action for a while, so we needed to take that into account to ensure the continuity of the business and the news service we provide to our subscribers and those that access eglobaltravelmedia.com.au through search, which is growing every day.

So, we have had to make some significant changes, which take effect immediately and here they are:

Global Travel Media Commercial Management Team

Stephen Morton, the founder, CEO and executive publisher will continue in this leadership role as much as he possibly can, bearing in mind his medical procedures, which may prevent him from doing so for a while.

Ed Young, currently sales and partnership manager will take over as general manager, taking over a great deal of what Stephen Morton would be doing, including, keeping an eye on the editorial team, but also looking after the business’ daily administration activity and sales and partnerships.

Stephen and Ed will be supported and guided by John Alwyn-Jones and Mark Sheehan as advisors, who together with Stephen and Ed form the Commercial Management Team. 

Global Travel Media Editorial Team

While Stephen will oversee editorial as much as he can, Peter Needham will continue in his role as Managing Editor – Australasia, working with Ed and with the advice and support of John Alwyn-Jones and Mark Sheehan.

Editorial contributors include John Alwyn-Jones and Mark Sheehan plus from time to time, John SavageIan McIntoshJill WalshRoderick EimeRichard Coles and Robert La Bua in Australia, with in India Madhura Katti, in Thailand Supaporn Pholrach (Joom), for general ASEAN news Tassapon Sutthidetkul and in the Americas, Matthew Thomas and Shelley Bradford Bell.

Global Travel Media Sales and Partnership Team

The Global Travel Media Sales and Partnership Team will continue to receive Stephen Morton’s input as much as possible and advice and guidance from John Alwyn-Jones and Mark Sheehan, but will be overseen by Ed Young, who will be immediately appointing sales and partnership managers in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, so if you have any suggestions of interested candidates please let Ed Young know by email edward@eglobaltravelmedia.com.au or call him on 0487 725 033.

We have also appointed Brian Gadsby as our expert in SEO and social media to assist us in maximising views and results of all our activities and we also have Hataithip Pimchai and Supaporn Pholrach (Joom) and Tassapon Sutthidetkul (Tass )  in Asia, who also works in this very important space.
