Virgin Australia says their “Let The Good Times Fly” sale on the day the Queensland border has reopened to all of New South Wales offers more than 1.9 million fares from just $75 on sale from today Monday 1 February until midnight AEST Monday 8 February 2021 or until sold out.

Virgin Australia says it has also increased frequencies on services between Sydney-Brisbane, Sydney-Gold Coast, Sydney-Cairns, Sydney-Hamilton Island, Sydney-Sunshine Coast and Sydney-Melbourne and is providing more than 40,000 seats per week between New South Wales and Queensland by early March.

The sale fares are available for select travel dates and destinations between March and September 2021 and Virgin Australia says that it continues to offer free booking flexibility until 30 June 2021.

Let The Good Times Fly sale fares are available to book at virginaustralia.com, but it is not clear if these fares are only available from Virgin Australia’s web site or are also available through travel agents or online booking agencies, with all fares including checked baggage, seat selection and Velocity Frequent Flyer points.

Virgin Australia said, “The reopening of borders provides Australian travellers with another opportunity to go on a holiday, reconnect with loved ones, and to conduct business.”

“Open borders also mean more jobs for our people, and we want to get as many of our stood down crew back to work as soon as possible, and so we’re doing everything in our power to get Australians travelling again, and that starts with a great value fare that includes baggage, seat selection and Velocity Frequent Flyer points.”

“From today, we have commenced additional services between Sydney and popular Queensland destinations such as the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Hamilton Island and Brisbane and we have also increased our services between Sydney and Melbourne. We will continue to review travel demand and our network schedule to meet the needs of our customers,” they said.

Commenting on Virgin Australia’s flexible booking policy, the spokesperson said: “We’re committed to our guests during these uncertain times and we’re proud to offer flexibility for travel until 30 June 2021, adding, “We’ve seen many traveller’s plans impacted by domestic border restrictions and so we’re here to give them comfort when booking a Virgin Australia flight that they’ll be able to change the date of their travel if they need to.”

Virgin Australia also provided the following network update: –

  • Sydney-Melbourne (up to five services per day from 01 February, increasing up to 23 services per day by early March)
  • Sydney-Brisbane (up to four services per day from 01 February, increasing up to 12 services per day by early March)
  • Sydney-Gold Coast (up to five services per week from 01 February, increasing up to seven services per day by early March)
  • Sydney-Sunshine Coast (four services per week from 01 February, increasing up to nine services per week by early March)
  • Sydney-Cairns (four services per week from 01 February, increasing up to a double daily service by early March)
  • Sydney-Hamilton Island (three services per week from 01 February, increasing up to daily service from early March)
