This report really does demonstrate how poor we, and in this case I mean me, have become at keeping in contact with friends and colleagues.
Many of you will recall Louis Allen, who left Sydney in the 2000s to live in Vietnam, which he loved and was enjoying life there, with his partner.
I had been in regular contact until a few years go and like many of us today became buys and did not contact Louis.
I sent Louis a Facebook message a few weeks ago, asking how he was going, as I had not heard from him for so some time, to receive a very sad response from his partner and some of you may be aware of this, that Louis had very sadly passed away suddenly from a stroke on 17 June, 2018.
His partner told me that she had found him collapsed in the bathroom, had called an ambulance but it was too late and he passed way, with her and her mother arranging Louis’ funeral in Da Nang.
Along with many of you, I recall with great fondness, bumping into Louis in various events and chatting and sharing a joke and a glass!
Louis was a great guy, a great photographer and a great loss to the world…and I am sure is somewhere taking shots of us all right now!
Rest in peace Louis!
