Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is kicking off its first Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase between December 1 and 10, with presentations from 13 CLIA Executive Partners.

The aim of the showcases is to provide practical insights for members to help members’ cruise clients get the most from their visits to ports and destinations, through providing insight into some of the world’s great ports and cruise destinations in its latest online education initiative for members.

CLIA says its members will be able to learn more about each destination including helpful information like the location of cruise terminals, details on public transport services, touring options and insider visitor tips.

CLIA Australasia Director of Membership & Events, Marita Nosic, says the virtual showcase would cap-off a busy season of online events for members and “CLIA’s online event series has given travel agents a way to continue their education and improve their selling skills at a time when we haven’t been able to get together in person” adding, “The Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase will be our final online event for 2020 and will offer valuable insight to help ensure clients have a rewarding visit.”

Showcase presenters include Tourism Western Australia, Singapore Tourism Board, Tourism Queensland, Port of Seattle, Tourism Northern Territory, Korea Tourism Organization, City of Dubrovnik, Cruise Baltic, Visit Monaco, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Cruise Atlantic Canada, PortMiami and Tourism New Zealand.

Participants can also earn three CLIA Accreditation points for each destination presentation they join live, after completing a short quiz and there are also cruise destination prize packs to be won by collecting destination code words during each presentation.
