Since its announcement last year, the much-anticipated SYMFONISK collaborative range by IKEA and SONOS, the smart speaker brand from the US, is now available in Hong Kong and Macau, combining IKEA’s ongoing pursuit of home living enhancement and SONOS’s innovation in delivering unparalleled sound experience. The collection is officially launched today at the SYMFONISK showcase area in the IKEA Kowloon Bay store, with local media experiencing how SYMFONISK can be connected with the IKEA Home Smart system to create a unique atmosphere at home.

“The collaboration combines the best of IKEA and SONOS to democratize sound and create products by leveraging each other’s strengths,” said Adrian Worth, Managing Director of Dairy Farm Group IKEA North Asia, at the launch event today. “The partnership is about two companies’ shared passion, values, and knowledge. IKEA and SONOS have demonstrated that it does not have to cost much in terms of money and space to democratize great sound while embellishing the home.”

“The SYMFONISK range speakers sound and behave like SONOS but look and function like IKEA. Whether you are new to SONOS or an existing user, SYMFONISK will be a valuable addition to your home,” said Christian Honegger, CEO of TC Acoustic, exclusive distributor of SONOS in Hong Kong, in a pre-recorded video message to announce the launch of SYMFONISK range in Hong Kong.

Also present at the launch event today was Nic Wong, Core Area Leader of IKEA North Asia: “The SYMFONISK range includes a multifunctional Bookshelf WiFi speaker and a Table lamp with WiFi speaker at an affordable price, designed with creating better everyday life at home in mind. The SYMFONISK range will be available at all IKEA stores in Hong Kong and Macau from 8 October, so be sure to visit the SYMFONISK zone to explore more ways to connect the SYMFONISK WiFi speakers to the IKEA Home Smart System and create your unique atmosphere at home.”

The SYMFONISK range products are visually appealing furniture pieces that ingeniously blend sound systems into the home.

WiFi speakers, such as the SYMFONISK speakers, have multiple advantages over Bluetooth speakers. A WiFi speaker allows the streaming of music, radio, and podcasts from your preferred networks and streaming services, and it generally supports all major music streaming subscription services. It also ensures smooth streaming, uninterrupted by phone calls or notifications, or even when your phone or tablet isn’t around. Make the best of the SYMFONISK range by having two identical speakers as rear speakers for your home theatre setup, then pair the same speakers with a SONOS home theatre product to create the left and right rear channels to amplify the SONOS surround sound experience. What this allows you to do is to play the same or different songs in different rooms simultaneously, depending on the ambience you desire.

The SYMFONISK range will be available at all Hong Kong and Macau IKEA stores starting from 8 October 2020. Customers are welcome to immerse themselves in the SYMFONISK quality sound experience at the SYMFONISK showcase area in each store.
