Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, has become the exclusive launch partner in Australia for the world’s newest cruise line, Tradewind Voyages, which will next year launch the largest square-rigged sailing ship in the world, Golden Horizon.

To be launched in May 2021 and accommodating 272 guests, the majestic, five-masted Golden Horizon will embark on her inaugural world voyage in August, 2021, which will include a circumnavigation of Australia from December next year. Tradewind Voyages, which launched in the UK recently, has announced Cruise Traveller as its exclusive Australian launch partner.

Cruise Traveller will open sales for sectors of Golden Horizon’s Australian circumnavigation on November 2, 2020 although registrations of interest can now be made with Cruise Traveller via  www.cruisetraveller.com.au/tradewind2021 .

Tradewind Voyages is the 54th boutique, luxury or expedition cruise company to partner with Cruise Traveller, which is now Australia’s leader in the small ship sector. Last month, four other companies also joined Cruise Traveller’s exclusive collection of small ship experiences – Albatros Expeditions, Oceanwide Expeditions, Captain Cook Cruises Fiji and Murray River Paddlesteamers.

Currently under construction for Tradewind Voyages in Croatia and modelled on the 1913 barque France II, the brand new, 162m-long Golden Horizon will fuse contemporary luxury with the charm, adventure and romance of a traditional sailing ship. Proudly flaunting 6300 square metres of sail as well as motorised propulsion, Golden Horizon will be the world’s largest square-rigged sailing ship, with the intention of having her under sail for 70 per cent of the time, thereby offering guests an authentic, nature-powered maritime experience.

Golden Horizon will offer modern-day seafarers personal service, a fine cuisine dining room, three pools, gym, library, spa sanctuary, four inside and outside bars, a marina platform and a collection of kayaks, waterskis and wakeboards for guests to use. All 140 cabins will offer ocean vistas.

From December, 2021, to February, 2022, Golden Horizon will become a spectacular spectacle when she circles Australia for 72 days. Sectors from 14 to the full 72 days will be available from Bali, Cairns, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth via Cruise Traveller.

The Managing Director of Cruise Traveller, Craig Bowen, welcomed Tradewind Voyages as an exclusive launch partner. “Golden Horizon fits perfectly into the unique, small ship cruise adventures Cruise Traveller specialises in and we look forward excitedly to promoting her in the Australian market,” Mr Bowen said. “Since 2003, we have grown rapidly to become Australia’s most experienced and trusted small ship cruise specialists, marketing and promoting our partners’ river, boutique and expedition cruise products to Australian travellers and travel agents,” Mr Bowen said.

Cruise Traveller will exclusively open sales for sectors of Golden Horizon’s Australian circumnavigation on November 2, 2020. Registrations of interest can now be made with Cruise Traveller.
