Avis Australia is proud to have received Canstar Blue’s 2020 ‘Most Satisfied Customers’ award for car rental providers.

Avis Australia came out on top with five-star ratings in each of the award’s six categories, including customer service, transparency of cost and fees, value for money and quality of vehicle. It was also the only car rental company among the top five to receive full marks for overall customer satisfaction.

The annual rating by Canstar Blue, a consumer review and comparison website, ranks the nation’s car rental companies based on how content customers are with Australia’s hire car providers. This year’s ranking was compiled based on survey responses and reviews from more than 400 Australians.

The win comes after the first half of 2020 saw Avis Australia launch a raft of new measures to continuously improve customer experience at the same time as introducing new procedures and processes to ensure a safe, clean and reliable transport solution as travellers began to look for domestic travel solutions for staycations this year. These include the introduction of the Avis Safety Pledge, to reassure customers of the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, and the Avis Digital Check In service aiming to minimise contact at the rental station and the time spent picking up vehicles. Avis also responded to the current uncertain environment by introducing Risk Free Bookings, delivering increased flexibility by allowing customers to change or cancel reservations, without fees, for rentals due to start before 14 December 2020.

Canstar Blue’s survey on car hire services saw respondents reveal that value for money is Australians’ top priority when booking a rental car, as voted by 28% of respondents, followed by transparency of costs (27%) and quality of vehicle (23%). The survey also revealed that 39% of respondents would recommend their hire car provider to a friend.
