Acclaimed Australian event company, DIRECTIONS Conference & Incentive Management has been announced as the major winner at the prestigious 2020 C & IT (Conference & Incentive Travel) APAC Awards for its exceptional staging of the 2019 Grow and Go Incentive Program for NAFDA Foodservice.

After accepting the challenge of pitching against the incumbent, DIRECTIONS excelled to pick up the Grand Prix Award, the highest accolade acknowledging one company’s outstanding excellence in the MICE industry, and was winner of Incentive of the Year, for the organisation and success of the 7-night 2019 Grow & Go Incentive Program in September last year.

DIRECTIONS’, in partnership with NAFDA Foodservice, drew on 30 plus years of experience and a reputation for creativity, innovation and faultless delivery in the staging of this event for 132 special guests. The Incentive travelled to Hungary (Budapest) and Russia (Moscow and St Petersburg), which DIRECTIONS had recommended as destinations on people’s bucket lists but not necessarily ones they would travel to independently.

NAFDA Foodservice provided clearly defined key objectives to DIRECTIONS for the execution of the event resulting in a ‘Money Can’t Buy Trip’ and an ROI resulting in an increase in sales growth targets by members and volume growth targets by suppliers as well as maximising business networking opportunities.

Highlights of the week-long activities included a Welcome Dinner with guests given front-row seats at a public concert in Budapest Plaza starring US ‘powerhouse’ celebrity, Will Smith; dining in a Cold War bunker 18 floors underground; a Vodka and Caviar tasting in popular Ice Bar 2.0 while dining in Europe’s highest restaurant, Ruski; a black tie dinner in Yusupov Palace Moscow commencing with a performance of ballet, Swan Lake, a prized viewing of 18th Century Peacock Clock (normally only turned on once a week) during their visit to the Hermitage and a Farewell Party at trendy Buddha Bar including a spectacular aerialist artist performance.

The plaudits to DIRECTIONS included “best ever trip”; “…The experiences were truly money can’t buy. Very exquisite with a great scoring”; “Unique destination with a crafted programme, engaging and premium experiences, excellent execution and high performance in audience review at conclusion”.

DIRECTIONS Chief Executive Officer, Joanna Hancock said it had been a “great honour and privilege to organise this important event on the calendar for NAFDA Foodservice”.

“We are also thrilled that DIRECTIONS has been awarded the NAFDA Foodservice contract do deliver the Grow & Go 6 Incentive,” Ms Hancock said.
