Emporium Hotel South Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of John McIlwain as General Manager for their multi-award winning luxury boutique hotel in Brisbane. 

With over 20 years of hotel leadership and 30 years in the hospitality industry, McIlwain is the ideal candidate suited to take the helm of Emporium Hotel South Bank.

McIlwain’s resume boasts an impressive history of employment across internationally renowned hotels, including Rydges Group in New Zealand and across Australia, and most recently, General Manager of Operations for QT Hotels, Atura Hotels and Rydges Hotels in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Returning to Queensland with his family after more than 20 years, McIlwain is excited to put down roots in the Sunshine State, and catapult Emporium Hotel South Bank into this third year of operations.
