Spread the love

Many people know Pinterest as a place for recipes, home décor ideas and fashion inspo. However, with COVID-19 creating new life stressors, more people than ever before are turning to Pinterest for wellbeing and self-care.

Unlike some other mental health and wellbeing resources, Pinterest is free for everyone. Pinners are actually 20% more likely than the rest of the population to have mental and emotional wellbeing top of mind during COVID-19. Just type #pinterestselfcare in the homepage search bar and new wellbeing exercises such as “stop saying should” and “set a time” instantly appear. The exercises were created in partnership with leading organizations like Brainstorm, the Stanford Lab for Mental Health Innovation.

Additionally, search trends on Pinterest show that people are turning to the platform for not only real-time wellbeing resources, but to also plan for an optimistic future with a now-or-never attitude. Top trending searches include:

  • ‘starting a new business’ +35%**
  • ‘life bucket list’ +65%***
  • ‘family goals future’ +30%***
  • ‘future house goals’ +78%***
