Phones, shoes, full water bottles, metal boarding signs and fast food are said to have been used as weapons during a wild brawl at an airport, involving three women who allegedly grew angry after their flight was delayed.

A phone video captured the action at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport last week.

Spirit Airlines said three of its employees suffered minor injuries after three “guests” at the airport allegedly “became combative following a delayed flight”.

Florida news outlet Local10.com covered the story and put a gripping video of the action on its news website, which can be accessed here.

Some of the airline workers shown in the clip are wearing masks (Florida is currently setting US records for the spread of Covid-19) but no social distancing is evident – mainly because it’s difficult to maintain distancing during a brawl.

The news source quoted court documents saying: “The victims were also punched and kicked in different sections of their bodies numerous times.”

The site shows photos of the three women, gives details of the charges they face and quotes a statement on the matter from Spirit Airlines.
