Europcar Mobillity Group is committed to the safety of its employees and customers launching a Safety Program that allows customers to move safely with flexibility and renewed peace of mind. As the world faces an unprecedented health crisis, the companies leading car rental brand in Australia and New Zealand introduced special measures to provide holidaymakers, commuters and business travellers alike with a safe and flexible travel experience.
Whilst strict disinfecting of branches and vehicles was launched some months ago, the introduction of the Safety Program demonstrates Europcar’s commitment to providing enhanced processes across the business and entire customer experience. The Safety Program includes a 20 point vehicle hygiene check, carried out between each rental using a specially formulated sanitiser, with sanitised keys placed in an envelope and the vehicle not touched again until the customer opens the door. Operations teams in the field have been provided with increased training and improved tools and checklists to ensure these robust measures are implemented consistently across the country. In branches, social distancing is practiced along with stringent cleaning and disinfecting of public and high touch areas and hand sanitiser is made available to staff and customers for regular use. With plexiglass safety screens installed in branches and these strict safety measures in place, feedback
suggests that Europcar is delivering above and beyond what others in the industry have rolled out.
“As we prepare for borders to reopen across the country, we wanted to demonstrate our continued commitment to providing our valued customers with peace of mind when they book and travel with us. This Safety program and the partnership with Bureau Veritas provides material evidence that the safety of our employees and customers remains our number 1 priority.” said Ron Santiago, Managing Director of Europcar Mobility Group Australia and New Zealand.
Melbourne Airport Chief of Landside Access Lorie Argus said it’s great to see a valued partner take additional hygiene steps, “we’re pleased that Europcar is enhancing its hygiene measures for the safety of its drivers and our travellers. It is that extra attention to detail that will help build confidence in transport, which is so important at a time like this.”
To further support the Safety Program, Europcar Mobility Group has announced a global
partnership with Bureau Veritas to consolidate hygiene and sanitisation measures for rental
car branches and the fleet itself.
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services, will provide Europcar Mobility Group, with support across its operations. The partnership which covers the entire Europcar Mobility Group’s corporate network, was developed to ensure that the company’s facilities and vehicles comply with Health Authorities’ safety recommendations and follow best-in-class cleaning standards and protocols.
In addition to these safety initiatives, Europcar provides both flexible adjustments and cancellation free of charge for all customers, ensuring they can book and travel with confidence and flexibility.
