New Caledonia Tourism is pleased to announce Julie Laronde has been promoted to General Manager, following nomination from the New Caledonia Tourism Board of Directors. Effective immediately, Julie will oversee the promotion of both international and domestic tourism to New Caledonia and the South Province.
The appointment from the Board of Directors and its Chairman, Mr Brieuc Frogier, comes in recognition of Julie’s commitment to the organisation, where she has held the position of Deputy General Manager since 2010. In particular, the Board noted her work in revitalising the tourism body’s international representation, marketing strategies and digital promotion tools, which has resulted in six years of continued international visitation growth. Julie takes over the role from Jean-Marc Mocellin, who held the General Manager position for three years.
“I am honoured and excited to step into the role of General Manager, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Julie Laronde, General Manager, New Caledonia Tourism. “I am committed to continuing to build local and international visitation to New Caledonia and the South Province, and I look forward to working with the New Caledonia Tourism team to put into place a bold marketing strategy that engages and mobilises our stakeholders like never before, especially during this challenging global climate.”
“We are confident the industry will recover. We are working hard, and when travel reboots, we will be ready. I send my best wishes and support to the Australian people and tourism industry and look forward to welcoming our Australian neighbours again soon.”
