Malawian Style, one of Malawi’s most reputable tour operators is now offering a new Photographic Safari with professional tuition, during which avid photographers can turn their hobby into a passion and learn the basics and more about wildlife photography.

The 9-day tour will see participants visit Malawi’s prime safari hotspot, Liwonde National Park. Liwonde has been at the centre of conservation success in recent years thanks to African Parks’ dedication to turn Malawi into a leading safari destination. The reserve has been restocked and now offers the chance of seeing all the Big 5 animals, perfect for those wishing looking to capture pictures of a range of amazing wildlife. There will also be time spent over the border in Zambia’s iconic South Luangwa National Park.

There are currently two scheduled tours available. The first takes place 14 – 22 May 2020, with the second tour taking place 11 – 19 October 2020.

The tour is broken into three courses across the 9 days. Run by Rob Bruyns, a professional photographer with ten years of experience in conservation and the photography and film industry, the courses are for all skill levels and Rob can cater to the participants wishes with his knowledge of the natural world and photography.

The first course, Beginners Secrets to Photography, will start by teaching the vital and basic elements of digital photography. Participants will learn a variety of important aspects including what shutter speed, aperture and ISO mean and what their functions are. They will also learn how to achieve an accurate exposure using the lightmeter, and a few secrets on how to achieve great photographs without over complicating your photographic experience.

The second course further explores achieving more accurate exposures through a deeper understanding of light and the effects of shutter, aperture and ISO in manual mode. Participants will also learn about contrast, choosing different light settings, and more.

The third and final course looks at capturing the moment. No cameras are needed for this course, this is purely theory and will change the way you read the scene you are about to photograph.

The tour has a limited attendance of only 6 people so each participant can best get the tutoring they deserve to fully excel at photography.
