South Australia’s peak tourism body, the Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA), welcomes today’s announcement by Premier Steven Marshall and the South Australian Tourism Commission of a $5.7 million financial support package for local tourism operators and events.http://www.tourismlegal.com.au/

TiCSA Chief Executive Officer, Shaun de Bruyn, said this package will help to save many tourism businesses and jobs across the state.

“The impacts of the summer bushfires and COVID-19 crisis have hit our tourism operators extremely hard and businesses are doing their best to survive,” said Mr de Bruyn.

“Any support that the government can provide is welcomed and will help to alleviate the significant financial stress that these businesses are currently facing.”

To further help tourism businesses survive and adapt, TiCSA has collaborated with various industry experts to deliver a suite of online business development opportunities.

So far, 150 tourism businesses have registered to take part in these opportunities which include videos, webinars, virtual workshops and networking events.

“At TiCSA, we have responded to our members needs by offering a range of online training and development opportunities to help businesses navigate these challenging times and plan for the future,” said Mr de Bruyn.

The newest addition to the suite is a self-guided course delivered by business specialists – Effektiver and Best Solutions International.

The self-guided course, which was launched this week, focusses on building business and personal resilience amid COVID-19, as well as crisis-proofing for the future.

“The great thing about this course is that it’s self-guided enabling business to work through the content in their own time and at their own pace,” said Mr de Bruyn.

“Another benefit is that it allows businesses to learn from one another and form new partnerships which will help them to build a sustainable future.”
