Professor Sean Carroll is headed Down Under to explain why there are multiple universes, outside of our own.

Think Inc., the outfit behind the tours of Dr Jane Goodall, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Richard Dawkins, are excited to announce the debut tour of scientific superstar and world-renowned theoretical physicist Sean Carroll. The tour, titled Our Preposterous Universe, will hit Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in February 2020. Think Inc. are giving away 5 double passes through EGT Media for the first five responders. Email info@thinkinc.org.au with your name, email, city and EGT Media in the subject line.

As a research professor at the California Institute of Technology, Sean’s primary work has focused on fundamental physics and cosmology, especially issues of dark matter, dark energy, spacetime symmetries, and the origin of the universe. A best-selling author of multiple books and regular contributor to the New York Times, Sean has never been afraid to blend physics and philosophy in a quest to reveal the true nature of reality.

Sean’s greatest talent is his ability to effectively communicate the complexities of challenging scientific theory in a lucid, often humorous style. This is showcased in his two TED talks on the multiverse and our understanding of time. He is also the host of his very own podcast, Mindscape, where he has interviewed scientists, sociologists, and even Family Guy creator Seth McFarland. When Sean isn’t busy answering life’s biggest questions, he moonlights as a scientific consultant for the Marvel franchise, having worked on the epic blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.

Sean’s 2019 output,  Something Deeply Hidden: Quantum Worlds and the Emergence of Spacetime, breaks down quantum mechanics for the layperson, providing a digestible exploration of the many-worlds theory. Sean argues that there are multiple, seemingly infinite parallel universes; worlds that are almost identical to our own – each time a quantum event occurs, a new universe is created, spawning an entirely new chain of events.

In February 2020, see Sean Carroll live on stage for his first-ever Australian tour. Minds will be blown, in this universe and the next.
