Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) is working closely with the organisers of the Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC) 2020 to offer the delegates the best of Penang’s Experiences Unfiltered.

The conference will be held from 3 – 6 September at The Wembley, Penang and is expected to attract 600 participants from various countries from the Asia Pacific region.

Among the key focus areas of APRRC 2020 are creating more meaningful international projects between the regional clubs and districts; grooming aspiring young leaders of the future; and cultivating greater awareness of the different cultures amongst Asia Pacific countries.

Promoting cultural exchange, the annual APRRC is the largest Rotaract event. This will be the second time the conference is held in Malaysia but the first time in Penang. The bid to host the conference in Penang was won by the Rotaract District 3300 (Malaysia). “As delegates of this conference will come from across the Asia Pacific Region, we look forward to indulging all delegates in the best that Penang has to offer; from its amazing food to our world-class hospitality. Penang, being a state with a proud number of UNESCO heritage sites, would also serve to allow delegates to explore the many wonders that we have to offer,” said YB Yeoh Soon Hin, who chaired the press conference at KOMTAR here in George Town, Penang.

“PCEB has been working closely with the team at Rotaract District 3300 to further enhance their vision of providing an unforgettable Malaysian experience through the conference. We are excited to successfully showcase Penang’s capacity and cultural uniqueness throughout the four days,” said Ashwin Gunasekeran, PCEB’s CEO.

“Their memorable vision in encouraging and challenging participants to develop more creative views and ideas into action will definitely benefit the future – within and outside of the Rotaract community while giving a positive impact to not only Penang, but also the Asia Pacific,” he added.

The Rotaract District 3300 (Malaysia) comprises of more than 35 Clubs; with almost 1,000 members from the ages of 18 to 35, spanning from Perlis to Negeri Sembilan.

Rotaract conducts many activities, which are mostly of charitable purposes, providing young individuals a chance to ‘give something back’ to the society. Rotaract also serves the purpose to enhance one’s personal development. At the same time addressing the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting better network between all people worldwide through service – ‘fellowship through service’
