W Bali – Seminyak is kicking off 2020 with a culinary sushi experience designed in collaboration with three Michelin Star ‘Sushi Master’ Chef Hiroyuki Sato, offering two days of intimate and exclusive sushi and sashimi crafting classes for guests on 22 and 23 January 2020.

Hailing from the recently opened Tokami in Tokyo, Sato will showcase his traditional Edomae cooking techniques at the beachside hotel as he takes guests through the process of creating delicious and authentic Japanese food.

Sato’s childhood experiences in his family’s sushi restaurant come to life in his cooking – in 2013, he became Head Chef at Tokami and after only six months, was appointed the restaurant’s Master Chef, and subsequently awarded a Michelin star for four consecutive years. Driven by his passion to nurture the next generation of sushi masters, Sato opened Hakkoku in February 2018, a restaurant designed specifically to offer apprentices the opportunity to stand in front of customers and learn through the experience.

Sato’s Sushi Master experiences will be held at W Bali – Seminyak at 1pm and 7pm on 22 and 23 January 2020, limited to ten people each session.
