Historian and founder of Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours, Mat McLachlan, has announced $100 from every passenger booking made on any of its 50+ battlefield tours during January will be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

“As a business originally founded in West Wyalong (regional NSW), and one which has several volunteer firefighters among its passengers and one of our staff, we’re committed to supporting these incredible heroes during this terrible time,” said Mat McLachlan.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by the bushfires – the people, communities and wildlife that have been tragically affected. We would like to extend our deep thanks and support to the firefighters who make up the frontline in this battle, including a special thank you to one of our passengers who has travelled with us five times in three years, Adam Blum, a volunteer firefighter with Hazelbrook RFS whose family has been impacted by fires in both the Blue Mountains and Port Macquarie.”

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the world’s largest volunteer fire service. Its members provide fire and emergency services to approximately 95 percent of NSW. Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours’ donation to the NSW Rural Fire Service will directly benefit volunteer firefighters assisting brigades in their important, life-saving work.
