Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International’s brand focused on connecting and creating communities, announced its continued expansion in China’s capital today with the opening of Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel.

Part of Fengtai District, the hotel is located in the new Lize Financial Business District, an office and retail hub that will host over 500 banking and financial companies. Positioned with strategic access to the primary Ring Road thoroughfares, the hotel is within a short drive from major attractions and commercial hubs including the Beijing Financial Street and both major railway stations in the southwest. The upcoming Lize area will include a soon-to-be-built city terminal with direct rail access to the new Beijing Daxing International Airport, giving greater connectivity to guests traveling to the city for business or leisure.

Backed by more than 80 years of history, community is deeply rooted into Sheraton’s history. With a footprint in more than 70 countries worldwide – making it Marriott International’s most global brand – Sheraton has become a part of the community fabric, and the gathering place for locals and guests alike. As the third Sheraton-branded hotel to open in Beijing, the Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel is the latest addition to the brand’s expanding portfolio in China.

Sheraton Beijing Lize is the latest unveiling of modern, contemporary hotels that are joining the Sheraton portfolio – the brand has over 80 hotels in its development pipeline, with many renovating around a community-oriented public space strategy that embraces gathering and collaboration.

“Sheraton Hotels and Resorts is often one of the first international brands to enter into new, emerging destinations and in 1985, Sheraton was the first international-branded hotel in China when we opened our doors in Beijing. Now, more than 30 years later, we’re excited to open the third Sheraton in the city with the Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel situated in the upcoming Lize Financial Business District. We hope that it will be a gathering place for guests and locals alike to come together,” said Mike Fulkerson, Vice President, Brand & Marketing, Asia Pacific, Marriott International.

Inspired by the magnificent landscapes and natural beauty of Qinghai Province, the building’s soaring lines and distinctive curved structure reflect the mountainous plateaus that are emblematic of the region. The 23-meter atrium lobby flanked by towering glass murals that depict the great peaks and clear rivers of Qinghai give an immediate sense of grandeur. Sixteen large ceramic vases around the murals lend classic Chinese aesthetic while a large bronze statue at the entrance represents the earth and mountains.

The 325 guestrooms and suites incorporate contemporary design with modern greys and warm beige tones as well as highlighted accents of modern art influenced by the Qinghai province. This combined with the floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted LED lighted ceilings, emanates a sense of relaxation and space for the guest to enjoy. The thoughtfully-designed rooms also feature spacious bathrooms, 55-inch LCD televisions, premium bedding, and high-speed wifi internet access to ensure comfort, connectivity, and functionality.  Suite rooms feature a Bang & Olufsen audio system that allows guests to choose either an exceptional audio experience from their television, or from their own Bluetooth connected personal device. Club Room and Suite guests as well as qualifying Marriott Bonvoy members have access to the Sheraton Club Lounge, a relaxing and upscale space that offers complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails paired with canapés and desserts. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of onsite facilities including the Sheraton Fitness center, which has an indoor heated swimming pool and comprehensive gym with sweeping views of the city.

Distinctive restaurants and bars provide a range of dining venues for guests and locals alike. Authentic Cantonese cuisine and an all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch are served in Yue®. Meanwhile, guest can enjoy international dinner buffet set amid an open kitchen and seven interactive food stations at FEAST®Qing Hai specializes in the delicacies of northwest China and fresh seafood hotpot with tantalizing broths. Guest can connect with friends and colleagues at The Lounge – the hotel’s majestic atrium lobby lounge with views up to the 3rd floor, over signature cocktails, wines and small plates.

Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel is also ideal for business meetings, conferences, and social events. The hotel houses an 800-square-meter Grand Ballroom, a 450-square-meter Junior Ballroom, along with seven meeting rooms of various sizes. Designed to enhance social affairs, both the Grand and Junior ballrooms are pillar-less and have their own impressive pre-function foyers, remaining entirely independent of one another. A team of experienced event professionals is on hand to ensure a seamless experience for every guest during their events.
