The past couple of months have seen hundreds of Volunteer Firefighters from all over the country giving their time and putting their lives on the line to combat fires that have been burning out of control.

Many charities have been formed and donations given to the unfortunate families who have lost their houses and belongings, and now the team at Paradise Resort want to thank the men and women who have fought so hard to get the fires under control.

Resort General Manager, David Brook, says that he is happy to be able to help these community heroes.

“The Rural Fire Service have worked tirelessly and I knew we had to do something to thank them for their efforts.

“These volunteers work non-stop, putting their lives, families and work on hold for the sake of others and that’s why we wanted to do something specifically to thank them.

“In doing so, our hope is that the volunteers can come down and enjoy a well-deserved break with their families and take some time to reflect on the amazing job that they’ve done for many communities,” said David.

The 2-night stays at Paradise Resort will be for families of up to 4 (2 adults and 2 children) and include one Kid’s Club session per child per day, unlimited use of the Zone 4 Kids Waterpark, a range of daily activities and entertainment, continental breakfast each day and car parking.

Alan Gillespie, Superintendent, Rural Fire Service Queensland, South East Region is absolutely delighted with the almost $40K donation from Paradise Resort.

“As paid staff we are automatically compensated for our time, but the RFS volunteers give so much of their time freely and the last couple of months they’ve been working tirelessly. They have given up work and family, to be there to help the victims of these tragic fires and these men and women are physically and emotionally exhausted.  This donation is the perfect way for them to rest and regroup.

“It is heartening to see the support from Paradise Resort and other businesses in SE QLD and we are truly grateful,” said Alan.
