URBNSURF Melbourne, Australia’s first surf park located just minutes from Melbourne Airport, has today announced that it has secured three key partnerships with leading Australian surf brands, ahead of the surf park’s much anticipated public opening in Summer 2020.

“Our aim at URBNSURF is to provide safe, convenient and accessible opportunities to surf more, and to surf better. With the support of leading, like-minded Australian surf brands – including Rip Curl, Creatures of Leisure, Softech softboards, FCS and OTIS – we’re able to deliver world-class surfing experiences to our guests,” said Andrew Ross, URBNSURF’s Founder.

Rip Curl

URBNSURF has teamed up with iconic Victorian surfing brand Rip Curl as its major surf brand and official wetsuit partner. Born in Torquay, Rip Curl is a renowned designer, manufacturer and retailer of premium surfing sportswear, apparel and technology products.

Rip Curl will exclusively supply URBNSURF with premium wetsuits and rash vests for its retail and surf rental operations, to ensure guests and staff alike are warm, flexible and performing at their peak, year-round. Rip Curl will also supply boardshorts, swimwear and its innovative Rip Curl GPS 2 surf watches to the surf park.

“We’re stoked to have our gear on surfers the world over, and particularly to be the official URBNSURF wetsuit partner,” said Neil Ridgway, Chief Marketing Officer at Rip Curl. “Whether it’s the surf park or the ocean, wherever you find good waves we want to be there. We look forward to getting our pro team there in the new year – from everything we have seen and our crew have experienced  – it looks great fun and a solid testing and training ground for our team.”

Surf Hardware International (SHI)

To enhance the experience of learning to surf and riding waves at Australia’s first surf park, URBNSURF has partnered with Surf Hardware International (SHI) to exclusively supply Softech softboards, FCS removable surfboard fins and Hydro bodyboards to URBNSURF Melbourne’s surf rental operations. Guests will also be able to purchase Softech softboards, FCS fins and Hydro bodyboards via Lagoon Supply Co., URBNSURF Melbourne’s on-site retail store, when the park opens to the public this Summer.

“We’re really excited to partner with URBNSURF and provide a range of our products for so many different types of surfers,” said Michael Heath, CEO of Surf Hardware International. “From beginners riding their first waves on one of our softboards, to elite pros wanting to tune their fin choice, and everyone in between. Our whole ethos at SHI is to enhance the surfing experience, and we’re confident through this partnership we’ll do just that for anyone visiting this amazing wave pool,” he added.

Creatures of Leisure, OTIS, Sex Wax, Surf Ears and Sun Cure

As the surf park’s official surf hardware partner, Creatures of Leisure will exclusively supply traction pads and leashes to URBNSURF Melbourne’s surf rental operations, alongside Sex Wax for surfboard wax and Sun Cure for ding repair kits. URBNSURF has also teamed up with OTIS eyewear and Surf Ears earplugs to ensure URBNSURF guests and staff alike (including lifeguards and surf instructors) are protected from the elements year-round. Guests will also be able to purchase Creatures of Leisure traction and leashes, Sex Wax surfboard wax, Sun Cure ding repair kits, OTIS eyewear and Surf Ears earplugs via Lagoon Supply Co.

“We’re genuinely excited about this partnership with URBNSURF, and congratulate Andrew Ross and his team for making it a reality – it is really an amazing achievement by the URBNSURF team. The Leisure Collective Group is rooted in surf and coastal culture, and we’re excited that URBNSURF is bringing what we love to a much wider audience than ever before. We can’t wait for all surfers, especially beginner and first timers, experience our products at URBNSURF Melbourne,” said Nathan Omodei, CEO of The Leisure Collective Group.
