The ‘Presidents Cupdate’ offers updates and insight as anticipation builds for the event’s return to Melbourne, Australia, to be contested at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club from 9-15 December 2019.

With Brooks Koepka withdrawing from the Presidents Cup last week due to a lingering knee injury, Captain Woods was given an additional captain’s pick, which he quickly used on Rickie Fowler.

Trust us, we’re bummed about Brooks, too, but U.S. fans shouldn’t feel too letdown. In 2017, Fowler finished 3-0-1 and was one of four players on the U.S. Team to go undefeated at Liberty National.

Plus, he partnered with 2019 teammate Justin Thomas to win 2.5 points in their three matches together in 2017.

Anyone else smell a potential pairing at Royal Melbourne?

It still feels good to type ‘Playing Captain’.

With less than two weeks until he touches down in Melbourne, PLAYING CAPTAIN Tiger Woods offered his thoughts on the captain’s picks process, Brooks’ WD and the challenge of being the event’s second-ever playing captain.

Tiger even explains the small prank he played on Tony Finau when he called him to let him know he had made the team.

Sure, you’ll get to see the top 24 players in the game led by two legendary captains on one of the world’s best courses, but there’s so much more to a day at the Presidents Cup.

Can we start with SIGNATURE COCKTAILS? These will only be available on site at Royal Melbourne.

That’s right, thanks to Four Pillars Gin, the Presidents Cup has crafted a unique cocktail for each team – the Par Spangled Banner (U.S.) and FORE! Pillars Ginternational (INT). See what we did there?

Upon arrival, the Fan Village will serve as the Presidents Cup’s first impression with plenty of local food trucks and several one-of-a-kind venues, including The Melbourne Lounge with its eye-catching rooftop, the Citi Interactive Zone, the Fan Shop, Kids HQ and much more.

After passing through the Fan Village, there’s plenty more to enjoy. Grab a coffee from Genovese, a glass of wine from Pepperjack – the official wine of the Presidents Cup – and grab a bite from several local food trucks, including Millys Phillys, Andy McNab Kebabs, Real Burgers and many more!

And for those looking for some extra special, don’t forget Gwen at Presidents Cup, the Curtis Stone pop-up restaurant where guests can enjoy either a two-course lunch or three-course dinner from Stone’s curated menu, matched with premium wines carefully selected from the Yarra Valley and beer from local Victorian breweries.

We’re glad you asked!

You can even enjoy the Presidents Cup away from Royal Melbourne, thanks to the Fan Experience at Crown Riverwalk. Located at Yarra Promenade, this live site will include live music, a floating green on the Yarra, a Heineken Container Bar, exclusive merchandise and the Citi 44 Million Yard Challenge to name a few.

On Monday, 9 December at 17.00, come out and enjoy the Official Launch Event of Presidents Cup week at Crown Riverwalk.

Those in attendance? Let’s start with Captains Woods and Els, along with two players from their teams, celebrities, Junior Presidents Cup players and ISPS HANDA Disabled Golf Cup participants.

If that isn’t enough, those assembled will compete against one another to see who can earn the most points by hitting shots to the floating green in the Yarra.

Ever thought you would see Tiger Woods or Ernie Els hit a golf ball onto a floating green on the Yarra River? Well, here’s your chance!
