The Love Your Sister Event with the Breast Check Record attempt is expected to see more than 3,000 adults complete a simultaneous self-examination for breast cancer at the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre.
On December 14th Samuel Johnson, from ‘Love Your Sister’ will cruise into Nagambie in support of an ambitious local initiative.‘Love Your Sister’ is a million-strong village of everyday Aussies committed to vanquishing all cancers with hard science.
It started with an insane dare. Co-Founder Connie Johnson dared her younger brother, actor Samuel Johnson, to unicycle around the country in the face of her terminal diagnosis with breast cancer.
Their aim? To remind every mum in the land to check their boobs. Samuel Johnson, Gold Logie winning actor, advocate and winner of Dancing with The Stars, has raised $10m, campaigned at over 800 community events and continues his mission travelling the country in his motorhome, amassing an army around the issue of personalised medicine for ALL Australian cancer patients.
The right treatment, first time, every time!
Organising Committee member, Colleen Furlanetto said, “The Committee are so excited about this event, we’re attempting to break the Record for the Largest Simultaneous Self Breast Check and firmly etch Love Your Sister into the book of records. It’s about raising awareness and funds to support all Australian cancer patients.”
Colleen added, “We can’t do this without you, so this December 14th – wear clothes of comfort (the check is done OVER loose clothing) gather your family and friends for we, will be waiting for you. There will be food and fun for the whole family.” The record attempt will be conducted at 11.30am with all participants over the age of 18 years completing a self breast check.
